1916 Commemoration

Members of the Defence Forces visited the school on October 8th 2015, to present us with an Irish flag and a copy of The Proclamation in preparation for the 1916 centenary celebrations.
On Tuesday, March 15th 2016 we celebrated Proclamation Day.  This ceremony included the reading of The Proclamation of Independence and a new version, which was written by the students, called The Proclamation for a New Generation.  The ceremony also included the raising of the tricolour, music, poetry and song.  It was a fitting way to remember the events of 1916.  Well done to all involved.
